The Truk Pro is Chrome’s latest addition to the SPD-compatible market. Released yesterday, Truk Pro combines the performance of SPD shoes with the comfort of your regular sneaker, thanks to Chrome’s Flex-Plate technology. In plain english that means that the sole is fully rigid from heel to ball, while the toe area flexes five times more than your regular SPD shoe. Chrome claims this results an unheard of wearing comfort, whether on or off the bike.
Truk Pro has a contoured, impact-resistant PU footbed, skid-resistant outsole, and recessed SPD plate, which makes walking with these shoes all the easier. The 1,000-denier Cordura outer shell used is claimed to be 25 times stronger than canvas. With the addition of vulcanized construction the Truk Pro seems a very promising shoe indeed.
Truk Pro SPD comes with Chorme’s 365-day warranty against defects in materials and workmanship and is available in grey and black from your LBS and chromeindustries.com, as usual. Full info on Truk Pro and prices can be found here: http://www.chromebagsstore.com/shoes/truk-pro-black.html
We’re going to be putting these shoes to test later on, with a full report on their performance, so stay put.
